4.13.5 Configuring the RIP
This procedure describes how to configure the Routing Information Protocol (
RIP
).
Context
The RIP is a dynamic routing protocol based on the distance-vector algorithm, exchanging
routing information through User Datagram Protocol (
UDP
) packets. The RIP has its own
routing algorithm, and can automatically adapt to network topology changes. It has higher
requirements than the static routing, and occupies more network resources.
Steps
