The radiofrequency bands allowed for wireless transmission in IEEE 802.11b/g depend on
national regulations. In most European countries, the authorised channels are channels 1 to 13
(2400 - 2483.5 MHz band):

In France, for a maximum transmit power of 100 mW inside a building, channels 10 to 13
(2446.5 - 2483.5 MHz band) are allowed throughout the country, and channels 1 to 13
(2400 - 2483.5 MHz band) are allowed in 58 of the regions (decision N° 02-1008 of the ART
dated 31/10/2002). A list of the regions can be viewed on the ART's WEB site.
