Wi-Fi Settings
The Wi-Fi Settings screen has the following sections:
•
Network Name (SSID)
— The name of the MiFi 4620L device’s wireless network.
•
Security
— The security type used to encrypt the wireless network.
•
Wi-Fi Password
— Displays the current Wi-Fi password.
•
Available Wi-Fi Connections
— Displays the number of available Wi-Fi connections.
To change your Wi-Fi security, password and/or connection settings, follow these steps:

Select the desired settings from the security, Wi-Fi password and/or available Wi-Fi
connections drop down menu(s).

Wi-Fi
The Wi-Fi menu allows you to customize the Wi-Fi profiles and view details about the devices
connected to your device. The Wi-Fi menu has the following options:

Wi-Fi Profile
The Wi-Fi Profile screen displays detailed information about the current 802.11 profile in use, and
allows you to change the current profile configuration.

The Current Profile section has the following profile details:

Selected Profile
— The profile settings shown on the page. (See
Changing to a Different
Profile
on page 32.)
•
Network Name (SSID)
— The name of the MiFi 4620L device's wireless network.
•
802.11 Mode
— The wireless network technology used.
802.11g + 802.11b + 802.11n
is most
compatible, allowing both 802.11b, 802.11g, and 802.11n devices to connect to the wireless
network.
•
WMM
— Wi-Fi Multimedia. Enables your device to stream multimedia files.
•
Channel
— If available, select
Auto
. With this setting, MiFi 4620L selects the best available
channel. If the
Auto
setting is not available, you can experiment to see which channel
provides the best results, or use the default setting.

Security
— The security type used to encrypt the wireless network.

WEP 64-bit (least secure, more compatible with older devices)
•
WEP 128-bit
•
WPA Personal/PSK (TKIP)
•
WPA2 Personal/PSK (AES)
•
WPA/WPA2 Personal Mixed Mode (most secure, less compatible with older devices)
•
Wi-Fi Password
— Displays the current Wi-Fi password.
IMPORTANT
You should use the Secure profile with the WPA/WPA2 Personal Mixed Mode
security setting whenever possible.
