TACACS
The DGS-3224TGR provides a way to centrally validate users attempting to gain access to the switch using one of three
implementations of the Terminal Access Controller Access Control System (TACACS) protocol: TACACS, TACACS+,
and XTACACS. TACACS/TACACS+/XTACACS is implemented in the switch’s software to allow centralized control
over access to servers. Authentication can also be provided for administrative tasks on the server and access server user
interfaces. With TACACS/TACACS+/XTACACS enabled, the access server prompts the user accessing the switch for a
username and password, and then verifies the password with TACACS/TACACS+/XTACACS.
