Routing Table
26.1
Overview
Routing is based on the destination address only and the Device takes the shortest path to forward
a packet.

DESCRIPTION
IPv4/IPv6 Routing Table
Destination
This indicates the destination IPv4 address or IPv6 address and prefix of this route.
Gateway
This indicates the IPv4 address or IPv6 address of the gateway that helps forward this
route’s traffic.
Subnet Mask
This indicates the destination subnet mask of the IPv4 route.

Flag
This indicates the route status.
U-Up:
The route is up.
!-Reject:
The route is blocked and will force a route lookup to fail.
G-Gateway:
The route uses a gateway to forward traffic.
H-Host:
The target of the route is a host.
R-Reinstate:
The route is reinstated for dynamic routing.
D-Dynamic (redirect):
The route is dynamically installed by a routing daemon or redirect.
M-Modified (redirect):
The route is modified from a routing daemon or redirect.
Metric
The metric represents the "cost of transmission". A router determines the best route for
transmission by choosing a path with the lowest "cost". The smaller the number, the lower
the "cost".
Service
This indicates the name of the service used to forward the route.
Interface
This indicates the name of the interface through which the route is forwarded.
brx
indicates a LAN interface where x can be 0~3 to represent LAN1 to LAN4 respectively.
ptm0
indicates a WAN interface using IPoE or in bridge mode.
ppp0
indicates a WAN interface using PPPoE.

DESCRIPTION
Interface
This field displays the name of an interface on the Device that belongs to an IGMP or MLD
multicast group.

Filter Mode
INCLUDE
means that only the IP addresses in the
Source List
get to receive the multicast
group’s traffic.
EXCLUDE
means that the IP addresses in the
Source List
are not allowed to receive the
multicast group’s traffic but other IP addresses can.
Source List
This is the list of IP addresses that are allowed or not allowed to receive the multicast
group’s traffic depending on the filter mode.
