> is the IP address of a remote device such as your ISP’s DNS server.
If the path is working correctly, replies as in the previous section are displayed. If you do not
receive replies:
Check that your PC has the IP address of your gateway listed as the default gateway. If the IP
configuration of your PC is assigned by DHCP, this information will not be visible in your
PC’s Network Control Panel. Verify that the IP address of the gateway is listed as the default
gateway as described in
“Preparing a Computer for Network Access:” in Appendix B
.
Check to see that the network address of your PC (the portion of the IP address specified by
the netmask) is different from the network address of the remote device.
Check that your Cable Link LED is on.
If your ISP assigned a host name to your PC, enter that host name as the Account Name in the
Basic Settings page.
Your ISP could be rejecting the device MAC address of your gateway because it does not
match the MAC address of the PC that you previously used to connect to a cable modem. In
this case you will need to clone your PC’s MAC address.

Default Settings and Technical Specifications
Factory Default Settings
You can use the reset button located on the front of your device to reset all settings to their factory
defaults. This is called a hard reset.
To perform a hard reset, push and hold the reset button for approximately 5 seconds (until the
Test LED blinks rapidly). Your device will return to the factory configuration settings shown
in the table below.
Pressing the reset button for a shorter period of time will simply cause your device to reboot.
