It is recommended for you to use the default setting,

auto-selected. You need to specify a server for categorize

searching when you type URL in browser based on the web

content filter profile.

Cache

None

– the router will check the URL that the user wants to

access via WCF precisely, however, the processing rate is

normal. Such item can provide the most accurate URL

matching.

L1

– the router will check the URL that the user wants to

access via WCF. If the URL has been accessed previously, it

will be stored for a short time (about 1 second) in the router

to be accessed quickly if required. Such item can provide

accurate URL matching with faster rate.

L2

– the router will check the URL that the user wants to

access via WCF. If the data has been accessed previously,

the IP addresses of source and destination IDs will be

memorized for a short time (about 1 second) in the router.

When the user tries to access the same destination ID, the

router will check it by comparing the record stored. If it

matches, the page will be retrieved quickly. Such item can

provide URL matching with the fastest rate.

L1+L2 Cache

– the router will check the URL with fast

processing rate combining the feature of L1 and L2.

Eight profiles are provided here as Web content filters. Simply click the index number under

Profile to open the following web page. The items listed in Categories will be changed

according to the different service providers. If you have and activate another web content

filter license, the items will be changed simultaneously. All of the configuration made for

web content filter will be deleted automatically. Therefore, please backup your data before

you change the web content filter license.

Be aware if the Web Content Filter (WCF) powered by Commtouch is not activated, the

above settings will not be valid.

Black/White List

Activate white/black list function for such profile.

4.7 Bandwidth Management

Below shows the menu items for Bandwidth Management.

4.7.1 Sessions Limit

A PC with private IP address can access to the Internet via NAT router. The router will

generate the records of NAT sessions for such connection. The P2P (Peer to Peer)

applications (e.g., BitTorrent) always need many sessions for procession and also they will

occupy over resources which might result in important accesses impacted. To solve the

problem, you can use limit session to limit the session procession for specified Hosts.

In the

Bandwidth Management

menu, click

Sessions Limit

to open the web page.

To activate the function of limit session, simply click

Enable

and set the default session

limit.

Enable

Click this button to activate the function of limit session.

Disable

Click this button to close the function of limit session.

Default session limit

Defines the default session number used for each computer in

LAN.

Limitation List

Displays a list of specific limitations that you set on this web

page.

Start IP

Defines the start IP address for limit session.

End IP

Defines the end IP address for limit session.

Maximum Sessions

Defines the available session number for each host in the

specific range of IP addresses. If you do not set the session

number in this field, the system will use the default session

limit for the specific limitation you set for each index.

Maximum P2P Sessions

Defines the available session number for P2P application.

Add

Adds the specific session limitation onto the list above.

Edit

Allows you to edit the settings for the selected limitation.

Delete

Remove the selected settings existing on the limitation list.

Administration Message

Type the words which will be displayed when reaches the

maximum number of Internet sessions permitted.

Index (1-15) in Schedule

Setup

You can type in four sets of time schedule for your request.

All the schedules can be set previously in

Application >>

Schedule

web page and you can use the number that you

have set in that web page.

4.7.2 Bandwidth Limit

The downstream or upstream from FTP, HTTP or some P2P applications will occupy large

of bandwidth and affect the applications for other programs. Please use Limit Bandwidth to

make the bandwidth usage more efficient.

menu, click

to open the web page.
