4.14 IP & MAC Binding

There are two submenus under the IP &MAC Binding menu (shown in Figure 4-70):
Binding
Settings
and
ARP List
. Click any of them, and you will be able to scan or configure the
corresponding function. The detailed explanations for each submenu are provided below.
4.14.1 Binding Settings
This page displays the
IP & MAC Binding Setting
table; you can operate it in accord with your
desire (shown in
Figure 4-71).

When you want to add or modify an IP & MAC Binding entry, you can click the
Add New…
button

button, and then you will go to the next page. This page is used for adding or
modifying an IP & MAC Binding entry
(shown in Figure 4-72).

To add IP & MAC Binding entries, follow the steps below.
1.
Click the
Add New...
button as shown in Figure 4-71.

Enter the MAC Address and IP Address.
3.
Select the Bind checkbox.

To modify or delete an existing entry, follow the steps below.
1.
Find the desired entry in the table.
2.
Click
Modify

as desired on the
Modify
column.
To find an existing entry, follow the steps below.

4.14.2 ARP List
To manage the computer, you could observe the computers in the LAN by checking the
relationship of MAC address and IP address on the ARP list, and you could also configure the
items on the ARP list. This page displays the ARP List; it shows all the existing IP & MAC Binding
entries (shown in Figure 4-74).

Indicates whether or not the MAC and IP addresses are bound.

Note:
An item could not be loaded to the IP & MAC Binding list if the IP address of the item has been
loaded before. Error warning will prompt as well. Likewise, "Load All" only loads the items without
interference to the IP & MAC Binding list.
4.15 Dynamic DNS
The router offers a Dynamic Domain Name System (
DDNS
) feature. DDNS lets you assign a fixed

host and domain name to a dynamic Internet IP Address. It is useful when you are hosting your
own website, FTP server, or other server behind the router. Before using this feature, you need to
sign up for DDNS service providers such as www.dyndns.org. The Dynamic DNS client service
provider will give you a password or key.
To set up for DDNS, follow these instructions:
4.15.1 Comexe.cn DDNS
If your selected dynamic DNS
Service Provider
is www.comexe.cn, the page will appear as
shown in Figure 4-75:

To set up for DDNS, follow these instructions:
1.
Type the
Domain Name
received from your dynamic DNS service provider.
2.
Type the
User Name
for your DDNS account.
3.
Type the
Password
for your DDNS account.
4.
Click the
Login
button to log in to the DDNS service.
Connection Status -
The status of the DDNS service connection is displayed here.
Click
Logout
to log out of the DDNS service.
4.15.2 Dyndns.org DDNS
If your selected dynamic DNS Service Provider is www.dyndns.org, the page will appear as
shown in Figure 4-76:
