5. Under
Router Settings
, enter an available IP address and the subnet mask of your network. Click
Save Settings
to save your
settings and then click
Restart Now
. You will need to use this new IP address to access the configuration utility of the router
in the future. Close the browser and change your computer’s IP settings back to the original values as in Step 1.
6. Disconnect the Ethernet cable from the router and reconnect your computer to your network.
7. Connect an Ethernet cable in one of the
LAN
ports of the router and connect it to your other router. Do not plug anything
into the Internet (WAN) port of the D-Link router.
8. You may now use the other three LAN ports to connect other Ethernet devices and computers. To configure your wireless
network, open a web browser and enter the IP address you assigned to the router. Refer to the
Configuration
section for
more information on setting up your wireless network.

There are several different ways you can configure your router to connect to the Internet and connect to your clients:
D-Link Setup Wizard
- This wizard will launch when you log into the router for the first time. Refer to the next page.
Manual Setup
- Log into the router and manually configure your router (advanced users only). Refer to page 19.

If this is your first time logging into the router, this wizard will
start automatically.
Note:
If you are directed to the login screen, you have a dynamic
connection, and the Internet LED is green, you should be connected
to the Internet and do not need to continue.
Click
Next
to continue.
Quick Setup Wizard
If this is your first time installing the router, launch your web
browser (e.g., Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, and Chrome), and
enter
or the router’s IP address (default
Please wait while your router detects your internet connection type.
If the router detects your Internet connection, you may need to enter
your ISP information such as username and password. (See instructions
on page 16 for PPPoE and Static IP).

If the router does not detect a valid Ethernet connection from the
Internet port, this screen will appear. Connect your broadband modem
to the Internet port and then click
Connect
.
If the router detects an Ethernet connection but does not detect the type
of Internet connection you have, this screen will appear. Click
Guide me
through the Internet Connection Settings
to display a list of connection
types to choose from.
Select your Internet connection type. You can select
Username /
Password Connection (PPPoE)
if you are using a PPPoE connection
(common with DSL), or select
Static IP Address Connection
if your IP
settings are supplied to you by your ISP.
Click
Next
to continue.

If the router detected or you selected
PPPoE
, enter your PPPoE username
and password and click
Next
to continue.
Note:
Make sure to remove your PPPoE software from your computer. The
software is no longer needed and will not work through a router.
If the router detected or you selected
Static
, enter the IP and DNS settings
supplied by your ISP. Click
Next
to continue.
Click either
I want automatic StreamBoost updates
or
I decline automatic
StreamBoost updates
. Click
Next
to continue.
