The online status shows the system status, WAN status, and other status related to this router
within one page. If you select
PPPoE
as the protocol, you will find out a link of
Dial PPPoE
or
Drop PPPoE
in the Online Status web page.

Primary DNS
Displays the IP address of the primary DNS.
Secondary DNS
Displays the IP address of the secondary DNS.
LAN Status
IP Address
Displays the IP address of the LAN interface.
TX Packets
Displays the total transmitted packets at the LAN interface.
RX Packets
Displays the total number of received packets at the LAN interface.
WAN Status
Line
Displays the physical connection (Ethernet) of this interface.
Name
Displays the name set in WAN1/WAN web page.
Mode
Displays the type of WAN connection (e.g., PPPoE).
Up Time
Displays the total uptime of the interface.
IP
Displays the IP address of the WAN interface.
GW IP
Displays the IP address of the default gateway.
TX Packets
Displays the total transmitted packets at the WAN interface.
TX Rate
Displays the speed of transmitted octets at the WAN interface.
RX Packets
Displays the total number of received packets at the WAN interface.
RX Rate
Displays the speed of received octets at the WAN interface.
Note:
The words in green mean that the WAN connection of that interface is ready for
accessing Internet; the words in red mean that the WAN connection of that interface is not
ready for accessing Internet.

This chapter will guide users to execute simple configuration through user mode operation. As
for other examples of application, please refer to chapter 5.
1.
Open a web browser on your PC and type
The window will ask for
typing username and password.

Do not
type any word (both username and password are Null for user operation) on the
window and click
Login
on the window.
Now, the
Main Screen
will appear. Be aware that “User mode” will be displayed on the
bottom left side.
3.1 Internet Access
Quick Start Wizard
offers user an easy method to quick setup the connection mode for the
router. Moreover, if you want to adjust more settings for different WAN modes, please go to
Internet Access
group.
3.1.1 Basics of Internet Protocol (IP) Network
IP means Internet Protocol. Every device in an IP-based Network including routers, print
server, and host PCs, needs an IP address to identify its location on the network. To avoid
address conflicts, IP addresses are publicly registered with the Network Information Centre
(NIC). Having a unique IP address is mandatory for those devices participated in the public
network but not in the private TCP/IP local area networks (LANs), such as host PCs under the
management of a router since they do not need to be accessed by the public. Hence, the NIC
has reserved certain addresses that will never be registered publicly. These are known as
private
IP addresses, and are listed in the following ranges:
